Beginners & Beyond is a 3 part course (fortnightly) for those who have had no experience of crochet before or anyone who wants to learn how to make a Simple Squares Cushion.  Step by step, you will learn everything you need to know, with time in between, to prepare for the next class.

In Week 1, you will learn how to…

• Hold the hook & yarn.
• Make a foundation chain
• Learn to make a magic ring as an alternative method of beginning a Granny Square or working in the round.
• Slip stitch
• Treble crochet (Tr)
• to read a pattern and simple crochet chart.

In Week 2, we will explore…

• Ways of joining new colours using the standing tr stitch technique.
• Work on different ways of joining the Granny Squares together

 

 

In Week 3, we will explore…

• different border designs to frame your work and for finishing the front beautifully.

Simple Squares Cushion is made using 9 small granny squares (4 rounds) framed with a pretty border edge and is finished off with a fabric backing. I have used Stylecraft Special DK yarn which comes in a huge range of beautiful colours. If you would like the Simple Squares Kit in a specific combination of different colours, then please just let me know when you are booking.

I have chosen 2 colour-ways; one dominated by a lovely rich Teal and the other a softer palette using Parchment.

In the kit below you will have everything you need for making your cushion.
