CAL Course of 3 Classes

Looking beyond the simple Granny square, in this 3 part CAL (crochet-along) course you will be learning how to make 3 more complicated square designs and combining them to make a beautiful blanket (Blanket size approx 52 cms/ 35 cms, 54 squares in total).

In each class we will work on a new design as well as looking at ways of joining the finished squares and adding a simple border.

• Week 1: The Milla Magic Square by Magda De Lange from the inspirational Pigtails blog.
• Week 2: Flower Cluster design by Marie Wallin
• Week 3: Nordic Pattern.

The blanket is made using a palette of 5 colours, Silver grey, Graphite grey, Storm blue and Empire blue. I then added a pop of colour with bright Pomegrante pink. As an alternative accent colour, you can also pick either pretty Sage green or neutral Parchment when choosing your Sampler Square Blanket Kit.

The blanket is made in Stylecraft Special Aran,  an amazingly economical yarn with a range of great colours to choose from. The yarn is soft and squishy and is perfect for making into a cozy blanket to throw over the back of the sofa without costing a fortune.

With my Sampler Square Blanket pattern you will be given clear instructions on the number and colour way of each square design you will need to make for your blanket.

Of course if you wish, you can create your own blanket pattern once you have mastered each square.

With a class each month (March/April/May) there will be time in between to build up your stash of squares to make your blanket.

All the classes include coffee, tea and delicious homemade cake.
