Granny Squares ~ the building block of so many crochet patterns…..

Learning to make the vintage classic, a Granny Square is a great way to start to crochet. Below I have given you a simple step-by-step pattern and mini tutorials to follow.

Before you begin you need to understand how to hold your hook and create a tension thread to make your stitches or chains to start to crochet.

Watch to show you how;

Making a simple chain is a great way of getting a feel of holding your hook and learning how to work lots of even stitches (chains) with your tension thread.

Once you feel comfortable holding the hook and have practiced making even chains you are ready to start making your Granny Square.
