For more experienced knitters, my hat design Isla is based on a traditional stranded colour-work Fair Isle pattern.
When knitting a hat, traditional Fair Isle is usually worked in the round on circular needles or on a set of double-pointed needles. This way the right-side of the knitting is always facing you, making it easier to see the pattern as you knit.
With the Isla pattern you will be knitting with both ~ working the main body of the hat using circular needles and shaping the crown of the hat on a set of double-pointed needles
Isla uses just two colours and by changing the order of the colours you can create two very different effects.
In this pattern I have given you two Fair Isle Charts so that you can knit both hats in either colour-way.
Alongside the pattern, I have added a series of Video Tutorials which will help you with the different techniques needed for the project.
You can buy the Isla pattern by clicking on the button below.
Once I have received your PayPal payment I will email you a copy of the PDF pattern to download and keep.
