Inspired by the exquisite work of the Parisienne crochet designer Sophie Digard, I have designed this project to practice working with fine 2 ply yarn and a 2.5 mm crochet hook to produce a delicate piece of crochet art-work.

The crochet piece is made up of a 4 block patchwork motif, worked in separate rounds in a combination of colours, displayed in an elegant glass frame.

You will be using a beautiful lace yarn, Drops Lace (70% Alpaca and 30% Silk) and Scheepjes Alpaca Rhythmn (80% Alpaca, 20% Wool),  in a choice of contrasting colours.  Although the actual stitches are not complicated, this class does require crochet experience to work with such fine yarn.

 

You will have everything in your kit to complete at home ready to mount and display in the simple glass frame.

Digard Frame Kit: 4 x small balls of 2 ply yarn (choice of colours),  2.5mm crochet hook, glass frame (from The Hambledon in Winchester), darning needle and pattern.

Cost of Class: £50  includes all materials (Digard Frame Kit) tea, coffee and cake.

Of course if you would prefer to bring your own yarn and materials just choose the option when booking.
