Fair Isle knitting isn’t as difficult as it looks. If you are comfortable using knit and purl, you will be ready to explore ways of adding colour into your knitting.
These cuffs are a great first project for learning fair isle techniques using two contrasting colours for adding wonderful visual impact. You will also be shown how to read a simple Fair Isle chart giving you a clear visual impression of how the colour sequences will appear.
These little cuffs are brilliant for wearing under a jacket, layering over the cuffs of a jumper, or you can slip your thumb through the thumb-hole and wear as cosy mits. (Fair Isle Cuffs: length 14 cms)
You may not finish your cuffs in the class but with your kit, you will have everything you need to take away to complete at home.
Fair Isle Cuffs Kit: 2 x small balls of Aran weight yarn in a choice of colours, needles, darning needle, pattern & fair isle chart.
Cost of 3 hour Class: £48 includes all materials (Fair Isle Cuff Kit) tea, coffee and delicious homemade cake
Of course if you would prefer to bring your own yarn and materials just choose the option when booking.
This workshop will be taking place at the Bobbin Sewing School’s beautiful craft studio in Stockbridge.
Bookings are closed for this class.
