Category: Knitting for Improvers
If you are comfortable using knit and purl stitches , you will be ready to explore ways of adding colour into your knitting using Fair Isle, the traditional colour-work technique.
These cuffs are a perfect project if you are new to Fair Isle. Knitted on straight needles, you will be using a Fair Isle chart and combining two coloured yarns throughout. When you have completed each cuff, simply sew up the sides leaving a gap for your thumbs.
These little cuffs are great for wearing under a jacket, layering over the cuffs of a jumper, or you can slip your thumb through the thumb-hole and wear as cosy mits. (Fair Isle Cuffs: length 14 cms)
You may not finish your cuffs in the class but with your kit, you will have everything you need to take away to complete at home. After the workshop, I will send you a PDF pattern with links to my step-by-step videos which you can watch in your own time and work through at your own pace.
Fair Isle Cuffs Kit: 2 x small balls of Aran weight yarn in a choice of colours, needles, darning needle, pdf pattern & Fair Isle chart.
