Cwtch Cushion Course
The Welsh term ‘Cwtch’ (rhymes with ‘butch’) was a favourite word used by my Welsh Granny Mary when describing a cuddle or hug. It felt the perfect word to describe beautiful cosy pieces to make for your home.
For those who have learnt the basics of crochet, this 3- part Improvers project-based course explores how you can add wonderful textural details into your crochet work.
In the workshops you will learn all the techniques and you will be provided with a kit with everything you need to make this lovely Cwtch Cushion.
I have designed Cwtch Cushion using 9 individual squares. The pattern is based around the classic Sunburst pattern, a combination of puff stitches and cluster stitches along with more well known stitches.
The 3 cushions below have been made using different combinations of colours. When you have reserved your place on the course, you may choose one of these combinations or your own colours to coordinate with your home.
The squares are made from Re:Treat Chunky 100% wool from the British based company, West Yorkshire Spinners and comes in a range of fantastic colours.
When all 9 motifs are joined, by turning and folding the main square, you can create this contemporary cushion with fantastic visual impact.
