New CAL (crochet along)
The Welsh term ‘Cwtch’ (rhymes with ‘butch’) was a favourite word used by my Welsh Granny Mary when describing a cuddle or hug. It felt the perfect word to describe warm, cosy pieces to make for your home.
Cwtch Cushion CAL Course
For those who have learnt the basics of crochet, this new 3- part Improvers project-based course explores how you can add wonderful textural details into your crochet work.
In the workshops you will learn all the techniques as well as providing you with a kit with everything you need to make this beautiful Cwtch Cushion.
I have designed Cwtch Cushion using 9 individual squares. The pattern is based around the classic Sunburst pattern, a combination of puff stitches and cluster stitches along with more well known stitches.
The squares are made from Re:Treat Chunky 100% wool from the British based company, West Yorkshire Spinners and comes in a range of fantastic colours.
When all 9 motifs are joined, by turning and folding the main square, you can create this contemporary cushion with fantastic visual impact.
Cwtch Cushion CAL (crochet-along) Course
£120 includes all materials (Cwtch Cushion Kit) tea, coffee and delicious homemade cake.
Week 1: We will be exploring new special stitches e.g cluster and puff stitch and techniques such as the magic ring, invisible joining and standing treble stitch.
Week 2: We will be starting to join the squares and setting the final layout.
Continue looking at new techniques introduced in week 1.
Week 3: Working the final seams around the cushion pad to complete your Cwtch Cushion
NB The workshops are spaced a fortnight apart in order to give time between to make all or some of the squares ready for joining.

Of course if you would prefer to bring your own yarn and materials just choose the option when booking.
