Bella Scarf, a beautiful combination of cable and mock cable slip stitches, edged with a simple i-cord stitch border.
If you have not tried working with Cable stitches before, this scarf is a perfect project to begin with. Surprisingly, knitting cables are quite simple to do and are made by swapping the order in which you knit stitches and by crossing one set of stitches over another.
The scarf is worked flat knitting back and forth and can be knitted using circular or straight needles. For this project I have chosen the beautifully soft Kid Classic Aran weight yarn by Rowan (a blend of 70% Lambswool 26 % Kid Mohair 4 % Nylon)
You can knit the scarf in two lengths. The smaller size scarf (1 x ball) reaches around the neck once, while the larger size scarf (2 x balls) can wrap around the neck twice.
Using some of the same stitch combinations and yarn as the Bella Beanie hat pattern, together they make a deliciously cosy hat and scarf set.
Cost for 2.5 hour workshop: £30 tea & coffee and delicious homemade cake
