SUNDAYS

Workshop 1: May 31st

Workshop 2: June 28th

Ready to take your Fair Isle skills to the next level?

If you have already enjoyed knitting smaller fair isle or colourwork projects, such as wrist warmers and hats etc, then moving on to knitting a fair isle garment is the next step.

Join this two-part workshop series and knit Flora, featuring delicate bands of fair isle to create a contemporary boxy tank top with a classic retro feel.

Flora is worked from the bottom rib up, knitting the complete colour-work pattern in-the-round, before dividing and knitting back and forth for the armhole and neck shapings. The neckline and armholes ribbings are then knitted in the round to complete.

NB: This project is  for improver knitters who are already confident working in the round.

FLORA PROJECT

Before we meet, you’ll receive my Flora Pattern and an Intro Sheet with all the information clearly given for beginning the project;

  • guidance on sizing
  • knitting a gauge/tension swatch
  • getting started with links to video tutorials to support your Fair Isle techniques.

You’ll then knit the body in the round in your own time, ready for the first session.

Workshop 1 – Shaping your garment
In this workshop, we’ll focus on dividing for the armholes and working the front and back sections, guiding you through the key shaping stages of your tank top.

Workshop 2 – Picking up Stitches & Finishing techniques
In the second session, you’ll learn how to pick up stitches for the neckline and sleeves and rejoining in-the-round for ribbings. We will also look at finishing techniques to give your garment a polished, professional look.

Across both sessions, you’ll build confidence in colourwork, shaping, and garment construction—finishing with a garment you’ll love to wear.

Cost of 2 x workshops : £75

Includes Flora pattern, worksheets, tea, coffee and delicious homemade cake.
