This little lavender heart is knitted with the addition of delicate silver beads for added sparkle and is a perfect project for making in an afternoon.
Beading can enhance any piece you are making. It can be used simply as an edging or more elaborately for allover impact.
We will be using a lovely pattern by the knitting designer Debbie Bliss. In the class you will learn how to thread your beads onto the yarn before working them into your knitted piece. Although it looks complicated, once you have learnt the technique it is surprisingly simple. You will also be learning how to increase and decrease your work to make this sweet heart shape.
The lavender heart is knitted in a beautifully soft DK yarn called Baby Bamboo, a mix of bamboo and pure wool. It has a slight sheen which works beautifully with the delicate silver beading. The knitted piece is then backed with fabric and filled with lavender ready to hang.
It not only looks pretty but will smell beautiful too!
Beaded Heart Kit includes: 1 x small ball of yarn (choice of colours), box of silver embroidery beads, wooden knitting needles, fabric for backing, dried lavender, silver ribbon, darning needle and pattern.
Cost for 3 hour class: £48 (includes all materials, tea, coffee & delicious homemade cake.)
Of course if you would prefer to bring your own yarn and materials just choose the option when booking.
