Category: Knitting for Improvers
For those comfortable with the basics of knitting, but wanting to learn more!
If you have never done lacework before, then this class is perfect for introducing you to the skills. Lacework is made up of an arrangement of holes in the knitted fabric formed by using a combination of increasing and decreasing stitches.
You will be shown how by combining the stitches and understanding how to read and use new knitting abbreviations (yfwd, K2tog, sl1, psso etc) you can create a pretty openwork effect, to make a light summer scarf.
The Lacy Cowl is knitted in Rowan Creative Linen, a lovely mix of 50% cotton & 50% linen which comes in a choice of summery shades. When you have booked your place, I will send you a colour chart so that you can choose your colour.
You may not finish your scarf in the class but with your Lacy Cowl Kit, you will have everything you need to take away to complete your summer scarf.
Lacy Cowl Kit: 1 x 100 gms. hank of Rowan Creative Linen (choice of colours), wooden needles, darning needle and pattern
Cost of Class: £40 includes all materials (Lacy Cowl Kit) tea, coffee and homemade cake.
Of course if you would prefer to bring your own yarn and materials just choose the option when booking.
