Category: Knitting for Improvers

This workshop is ideally for those who are able to knit, purl, increase, decrease, cast on and off and ready to begin knitting using double-pointed needles.

There are so many beautiful sock designs to enjoy knitting, using delicate lace stitches, cable patterns, vibrant stripes, pretty Fair-isle or simply stocking stitch….

However, before attempting these, it is important to understand the basic components and knitting skills involved in each part of the sock’s anatomy.

Knitting a Mini sock in Aran weight yarn is a perfect way to learn and work fairly quickly through each stage.

In this 3 hour workshop you will be knitting this sweet mini sock, which uses all the beginner sock techniques, based on a original pattern by Sarah White.

Although you may not finish the mini sock in the workshop, afterwards, I will send you my complete PDF pattern with links to my step-by step mini videos for you to download and work through at your own pace.

Having made your Mini Sock, you will have the confidence to go on to explore and knit your first pair of socks ready to wear.

To keep things simple, all materials will be provided in the workshop,

YARN

  • Small ball of Aran weight yarn

NOTIONS

  • Set of Size 5mm double-pointed needles (4 required)

Of course if you would prefer to bring your own yarn and materials just choose the option when booking.
