Zoom Project 1

In this online workshop you will be given step-by-step instructions with a PDF pattern for you to download with clear photos and links to mini videos, which you can watch in your own time.

There will also be an invitation to a Zoom session (around 40 mins) where we will talk over specific areas about the project and you can ask me any questions.

I will be keeping these Zoom sessions small, with a maximum of 5 people.

Little Honeycomb Bag

Finished bag approx. 8.5cms x 13cms

The Little Honeycomb Bag is perfect project to make if you have a quiet morning or afternoon. All you need is a ball of wool and a pair of corresponding knitting needles. I have given a link below to the DK yarn I have used but really you can use any spare yarn you have.

The little bag is knitted in two pieces. If you wish, you can then line your bag with fabric before sewing the pieces together. The pattern uses a lovely slip stitch, Mock Honeycomb stitch (used as the central square in the KAL Patchwork Cushion project).

You will then be adding eyelets for a delicate ribbon or crocheted thread before casting off with fine picot stitch technique to add a pretty edging to the opening of the bag.

Materials you will need

50 gm ball of DK yarn (I have used Sirdar Baby Bamboo)
pair of 4mm knitting needles
darning needle
small piece of lining material (optional)
ribbon

Techniques used

Stocking stitch
Honeycomb stitch
Bringing yarn forward to make an eyelet for the ribbon
Picot edge cast off
Sewing up using mattress stitch
