Sleep Tight Baby Blanket is made using the classic Granny Square. It is a perfect first project if you are starting your crochet journey and would be a beautiful present for a new baby.
In this 3 part project-based Beginners Course you will learn all the techniques to get started with your blanket as well as providing you with a kit with everything you need to make it.

If you would prefer to bring your own yarn and materials just choose the option when booking.
Sleep Tight is made of 30 Granny Squares in 3 contrasting colours. Once sewn together, the squares are framed with a colourful border and finished off with a pretty picot edging.
NB With the workshops spaced apart, there will be time in between to crochet all or a number of squares for working on in Workshop 3.
Workshop 1: Granny Squares – Beginner Basics
In the first workshop you will learn all the basics for making a classic Granny Square and begin looking at the Sleep Tight pattern showing you what colours to use for your squares.

Workshop 2: Building on Beginner Basics
In the second workshop –Building on Beginner Basics, we will be working on ways for joining and how to sew your squares together.

- how to begin you squares using the Magic Ring technique.
- how to add new colours with Standing Treble joining technique.
Workshop 3: Adding The Border
In the final workshop, we will be working on the border and how to add the picot edging.

Sleep Tight Blanket Kit – £40
For the Sleep Tight Kit I have chosen a pretty mix of Toffee and Caramel shades with a soft grey base in Country Classic Worsted. This is a lovely soft wool-mix worsted weight yarn (machine-washable) by Sirdar, the popular UK brand established in Yorkshire 1880 and a household name in the knitting and crochet world.
Sleep Tight Baby Blanket Kit: 6 x 100gm balls Sirdar Country Classic Worsted, size 4.5mm crochet hook, darning needle, pattern.
This workshop will be given in The Colour Factory, a creative hub in the centre of Winchester, home to seven resident artists.
