New for Spring! ~ Course of 5 Classes (every 2 weeks)

May 22th, June 5th & 19th, July 3rd & 17th 

Knitting your first jumper can be a slightly daunting prospect. In this course of 5 classes (fortnightly) you’ll learn everything you need to know step by step for making your first garment with time in between to prepare for the next class. With expert guidance you will learn new and essential skills whilst also gaining the confidence to make many more beautiful jumpers in the future.

Skills you will learn include;

• knitting a tension swatch (important for ensuring a good fit)
• reading patterns and understanding abbreviations
• shaping techniques (armholes, sleeves and neckbands)
• making up
• picking up stitches for neck bands
• blocking knitted pieces
• setting in raglan sleeves
• sewing up seams using mattress stitch

In this course you will be knitting a lovely, T-shirt style jumper by Kim Hargreaves from the Rowan Indigo collection Spice  This is a great first garment to make and perfect for layering this summer. It is knitted in Rowan Creative Linen (50% linen & 50% cotton) and comes in a gorgeous range of colours to choose from. Needles required: 1 pair of 4mm needles/1 pair of 4.5 needles/1 pair of 5mm needles

Course Cost: £75 (5 classes) 

All the classes include coffee, tea and homemade cake.

In the kits below you will have everything you need for making your first jumper. As this is an Improvers Class I have not included the needles in the kits. If you require them then please choose this option when booking.
